Is the Lord your God testing you?

Deuteronomy 13:1 “If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder, 2and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, ‘Let us go after other gods’—which you have not known—‘and let us serve them,’ 3you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams,

for the Lord your God is testing you to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul…

I share a YouTube video a friend sent me: https://youtu.be/jrYWaFaXITE -if you can’t access the video by clicking on this link, go to YouTube search: Best sermon about The Baptism of Fire and The Holy Spirit-Bill Johnson…

Pastor Bill shared from his heart a very convincing/convicting message and then went into this spontaneous song:

Dove

Pour out Your Spirit

Answer by fire

show forth Your mercy

Your heart is my desire

Your heart is my desire

Is the Lord God’s heart your desire? Have you thought lately about how much you love the Lord your God? Is it with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind…with your whole life? Are you holding back, wanting to keep a part of yourself separate from the Lord? The first of the “Ten Commandments” is:  Exodus 20:3 “You shall have no other gods before Me.”

pexels-photo-433029.jpegGod goes on to connect this to Deuteronomy 13:

“You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God…

King Solomon searched his own heart to try and fill his desires:

Ecclesiastes 2:3 searched in my heart how to gratify my flesh with wine, while guiding my heart with wisdom, and how to lay hold on folly, till I might see what was good for the sons of men to do under heaven all the days of their lives.

 King David asked God to search him:

Psalm 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me, and know my anxieties;
24 And see if there is any wicked way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting.

This is what God tells us:

Jeremiah 29:12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

I encourage you to spend time waiting on the Lord. Humbly come before Him, ask Him to search your heart. When the Holy Spirit reveals your anxious thoughts and any wicked ways in you, renounce them(repent)and don’t let them cling to your heart and soul anymore. Apply the blood of Jesus, then let The Holy Spirit lead you in the way everlasting. Seek Him and find Him by searching with all your heart.

At the end of the video you can join in this meditative Psalm:

  1. My Jesus, I love Thee, I know Thou art mine; For Thee all the follies of sin I resign; My gracious Redeemer, my Savior art Thou; If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.

  2. I love Thee because Thou hast first loved me, And purchased my pardon on Calvary’s tree; I love Thee for wearing the thorns on Thy brow; If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.

  3. I’ll love Thee in life, I will love Thee in death, And praise Thee as long as Thou lendest me breath; And say when the death dew lies cold on my brow, If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.

  4. In mansions of glory and endless delight, I’ll ever adore Thee in heaven so bright; I’ll sing with the glittering crown on my brow, If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now.
