January Fasting?

img_20191109_150707262 This is my 4th day joining our congregation’s 21 day January fast. I did start on the first of January, finding with two young grandchildren, daughter and son-in-law here, no one notices I’m not eating meals since they’re random, everyone hungry at different times. I took the example Pastor Josh gave, fasting each day until 4 PM. This has worked well and I’ve stuck to water and hot tea the rest of the day, adding a cup of vegetable bone broth when I came home from exercise class yesterday. Dinner meals have been OK, except indulging in sweet desserts! Today I savored some mini maple sugar cakes and leftover pound cake from last evening. Rather than stop the fast, I stopped eating at 6:00 PM and will cut out sugar/sweets when family leaves tomorrow.

Grace!  My husband is leaving to work on our other house for 7-10 days and I’ll be able to concentrate on seeking Immanuel. I watched Sid Roth’s ISN January 2020 Prophetic Outlook today.  I highly recommend you watch it!  I began watching Sid’s show with the 2018 Prophetic Outlook. We must be as the Bereans in the Bible who discerned what times they were in and acted accordingly.  God has plans to bless us, but we need to take initiative to pray in His will and get out to vote for His plans and purposes to be fulfilled.

We’re again watching WONDERSTRUCK imagined by BBC AMERICA. What amazing things they’re showing from the deepest depths of the oceans; if only more people would awaken to the glory of God manifest in His creation! Notice how deep TV is going into the “Ancient Aliens” program. I’d rather not glorify the enemy’s manifestations on earth; even my husband who hasn’t surrendered to Jesus yet can’t stand that program!

img_20200104_203019237  Have any of you read Just Mercy A Story Of Justice And Redemption by Bryan Stevenson? It was recommended by Crossroads Prison Ministry to us Mentors.

The New York Review of Books wrote: “Every bit as moving as To Kill A Mockingbird, and in some ways more so…a stirring testament to the salvation that fighting for the vulnerable sometimes yields.” (from the cover)

This account from the Bible is what sums up Bryan’s ministry: EJI , the Equal Justice Initiative. Oh, I just found Just Mercy has been made into a new movie!

John 8:6 This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear.

So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.”

There’s a lot at stake in this new year; new decade. Press in and seek the Lord to find out what your part is in His plan for mercy and walk in it.

Standing at the crossroads; the head of the new year
