God’s Love Never Fails

halleluiaAs we celebrate Valentine’s Day, I’m drawn to think about how much God loves us! We are in days of great trial and strife, especially when we look at the true condition of this world. To quote Francis A. Shaeffer: “How Should We Then Live?” Let’s see what God says.

17 Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. 18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. 20 Therefore

“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
If he is thirsty, give him a drink;
For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”

21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

walking and leaping We draw people to the truth when we overcome evil with good. It’s not just speaking the truth, but also binding the “strongman” of evil. It’s also loving the unlovable. The love of God calls backsliding ones home:

Jeremiah 3:22 “Return, you backsliding children,
And I will heal your backslidings.”

We can count on the Lord because God’s love never fails!

Romans 8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Enjoy your day with loved ones; enjoy time with God the Father and Christ Jesus your Lord and Savior; lover of your soul. If you have given your heart to Jesus and become reconciled to God through His sacrifice, rejoice no matter what comes this day. I love you all with the love of God which causes Him to rejoice over you with singing and dance over you with joy! Here’s one last scripture to bring balance:

1 Corinthians 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. feeling fine
