This Present Darkness?

Which would you choose?

How Should We Then Live? A book by Francis Schaeffer who spent decades pondering how to live a Biblically Christian life amid these times of chaos. On Tuesday I read a prophetic vison from June 1, 2020. You can find it on Facebook @ Jeremiah Johnson Ministries: AN URGENT PROPETIC ALERT AND WARNING June 1, 2020 12:07 p.m. He pointed out that the fear and greed come from the enemy and the enemy has taken over our media outlets. This has led to the protests and riots. Wednesday’s devotion led me to 1 Peter 2:

1 I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. For, There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. [NLT Bible]

This is a time of great turmoil. We have many opportunities to take offense, grumble and complain. I believe God will hold us accountable for our attitude through all this. An inordinate amount of people are bashing President Trump, among other people in the spotlight. It brings to mind, “He who has no sin, throw the first stone.” The Apostle Paul wrote 1 Timothy when Nero was their leader. He used and abused Christians and others horribly. If you think about it, we don’t need a politician as president right now; we need a businessman to straighten out the mess our past politician presidents got us into. No matter what you say, Trump has made headway; especially with his stance toward Israel. As Israel goes, so do we. God said He would bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel. Societies have proven this true repeatedly!

undefined All I want to say about what’s happened with the “race riots” this week is I recommend Bryan Stevenson‘s book Just Mercy. It is also a movie/mini-series now.

So, as far as it is in your ability, drawing on Christ’s help, live at peace with all people. Remember to bless those who curse you, do good to those who persecute you. Join with the Lord of the Harvest and work toward all people coming to saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Let’s work toward the goal of God’s kingdom in Heaven, working while it is light to reap the harvest Jesus paid the price for. Don’t lie down and give in to the devil’s plans for fear, confusion, and greed. Stand up and declare God’s plans for us all to have love, joy, peace and godliness in the Holy Ghost!

I pray all my readers experience true Shalom as they go deeper into a relationship with Father God through Jesus Christ. Let us stand and proclaim the goodness of the Lord and pray our country has one more chance at grace before the end comes. Amen.
