We’re At War!

I am part of the launch team for Rick Renner’s Last Days Survival Guide which released August 2, 2020. I just watched his interview on Sid Roth from March 9, 2015, when Rick was promoting his previous book Dressed To Kill.

During this interview, Rick said we’re in a war and dressed to kill according to the armor in Ephesians 6. He relates that the armor of God comes upon us when we’re given the seed, or measure, of faith when we first believe. The Apostle Paul had intimate knowledge of Roman armor from his time being heavily guarded. He knew God speaks of His armor in the Old Testament, and this Spirit armor is what we get from the Spirit of God. Rick shared that a Roman soldier’s shield was created from measuring his height and width and building the shield from wood, covering it with leather. This shield would cover his entire body and when wet, it would quench fiery darts. This is only one piece of the protection we get as Believers. We get more formidable with this armor as our relationship with the Lord grows.

Rick has joined with Robert Henderson, who teaches about the courts of heaven, adding to Rick’s understanding of the war we’re in. Last Days Survival Guide (LDSG) connects the spiritual war to the courts of heaven. Rick says in heaven the blood is always on the mercy seat and Jesus is continually interceding for us from there. Thinking about the eternal blood and body sacrifice of Christ made a difference when I took communion this morning. Those who have seen the Risen Lord say He’s still got the nail marks in His hands and feet. I still have scars on my toes and other places from surgeries; I wonder if I’ll keep these as badges of healing on my resurrected body also?

I mentioned before in my July 24, 2020 post titled End Times?, we are not at the end of the end times, but in the season called birth pains. On page 48 of LDSG Renner says, “We must wake up and realize that we are the generation called to close out the age. We were chosen for this hour – it is our destiny.” The Bible has called this the era of the end times since Jesus rose from the dead, and we have been chosen for this important time we’re in, but Jesus said no one but the Father knows the exact date and time of the end. Some signs are fulfilled, but not all.

These things aside, paired with the Holy Bible, the Last Days Survival Guide is helpful. Renner leads you through what you need to know to thrive in these perilous times we live in. He poses many questions for you to work through to find out where your heart, mind and spirit are at. His examples from life bring the topics to life. Pages 446-452 end the book with the best:

  • A Final Prayer for end-time believers
  • A Final Confession Of My Faith
  • Prayer For Overcoming These Perilous Times
  • Prayer To Receive Salvation
  • Prayer To Receive The Baptism In The Holy Spirit.

He encourages you to underline, highlight and mark up the pages of this book and use it as a handbook for keeping on track as it gets more challenging to live as a Christ-follower in this world. Rick and his family have testimonies from living in Russia at one of the toughest parts of the Soviet era and how God proved Himself faithful as He set their fledgeling ministry on fire.

I recommend this book to anyone who wants to know how to prepare to live victoriously in this time God chose us to be here on earth. It’s an excellent gift to give to someone you love and want to encourage – after you’ve read your own copy!

  1. Thanks for the reminder to put on my armor today. We need it to stay in faith and stop all the fiery darts of doubt and unbelief and thoughts that exalt themselves against what we know to be true. God is our provider. God is our source. He will never abandon us. He has always been faithful and will continue to be.
