Wow! What a whirlwind month just flew by me! September was mixed with our yard sale production, dinners with friends, harvesting and processing and major projects. My husband is learning to hunt when he has the possibility of every day it doesn’t rain. He’s actually cut back to three or four days a week and not eager to hunt in the evenings. Part wisdom gained with age, part not having time constraints at this stage of his life. By the way, John took this photo of the moon shining forth the glory of God! (I was inside watching the pressure canner when he was out getting this photo for me)

I spent the month reading Good Morning, Holy Spirit by Benny Hinn. There’s a brief history with this book I want to share. About thirty years ago, I was the librarian for our small church. This book was on our shelves and I noticed it as I perused the shelves, but never read it. It was a book culled from the shelves a few years later (Benny updated the book ten years after its first printing) and I took it home, but ended up giving it to someone else before I read it. Recently, The Spirit led me to look it up on Amazon and I found I could download it to my Kindle for $1.99. I’m so glad I jumped at the offer since the Spirit knew it was perfect timing! Benny has an amazing story beginning with his origin in Israel, large family,emigrating to Canada, finding Jesus and turning his family against him, then a visit to see Kathryn Kuhlman. The Holy Spirit came into his life powerfully and he shares how it ignited his life and began his ministry. The fear, frustrations and the peace beyond understanding he experienced during persecution by his parents and family are such testimony to the saving, healing, glorious power of God. If you want to meet for the first time – or reacquaint yourself with – the Holy Spirit of God, I recommend this book. Good morning Holy Spirit! I ask You to pour out on me. Lead me and guide me, be my best friend as You walk beside me this day. Reveal Father God and lead me to the Son. It’s going to be exciting! Hallelujah!
It’s time to think about Operation Christmas Child for 2021. I am on the planning team for our church and eager to meet with the rest of the team and get started! We hope to do at least 150 boxes this year, Lord willing. I see it as an easy avenue for sending God’s love and salvation to children around the world. If you reach the children, they bring their parents. Another good ministry to children with boots on the ground in our area is Child Evangelism Fellowship. Our local team has found challenges reaching out to school children during this season, but the Lord has inspired many new ways to reach out. Remember: if you reach the children, you reach the parents. Which ties in with Benny Hinn’s story; salvation came to him, then to his parents, then worked its way through his siblings. My dear readers, I hope I have inspired you to help pack Christmas shoeboxes, donate, volunteer, or pray for both ministries. The Gospel shall be preached to all nations and unity in the body of Christ shall come before the final day of the Lord. What is your part in this? I leave you with God’s words to Jeremiah that also apply to each of us. Remember, in God’s timing, there is no one too young; no one too old for Him to call; for Him to use for His kingdom purposes.
The Call of Jeremiah
1:4 The word of the Lord came to me, saying,
5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
6 “Alas, Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I do not know how to speak; I am too young.”
7 But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. 8 Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”
