Psalm 36:1 NKJV – An oracle within my heart concerning the transgression of the wicked…

This is a Psalm of David, but it hits home for us today! Remember as you read, God’s will is that none would perish, including you, my readers. In other words, I must examine my own heart before I examine others.

Psalm 36:1 There is no fear of God before his eyes…

Is this fear; awesome, overwhelming respect of the LORD God Almighty, before your eyes? Do you keep from seeing evil things?

Psalm 36:2-3 NKJV
For he flatters himself in his own eyes, when he finds out his iniquity and when he hates. [3] The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit; He has ceased to be wise and to do good.

We see these things all around us. Self-flattery that comes from finding iniquity and hate in the heart…pride! Wicked, deceitful words drip from the mouth, and wisdom & goodness flee.

Psalm 36:4 NKJV
He devises wickedness on his bed; He sets himself in a way that is not good; He does not abhor evil.

Do you sleep well? Do you rest in the LORD when you lie on your bed? Or are you conceiving evil, wicked thoughts? Are you maybe… pridefully rehearsing your aches & pains & ailments?

Here is where the theme changes:

Psalm 36:5
Your mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

Psalm 36:6
Your righteousness is like the great mountains; Your judgments are a great deep; O LORD, You preserve man and beast.

Selah

Psalm 36:7-8 NKJV
How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. [8] They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, And You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures.[9] For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light.

10 Oh, continue Your lovingkindness to those who know You, and Your righteousness to the upright in heart.

11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.  12 There the workers of iniquity have fallen; they have been cast down and are not able to rise.

Lord, I ask you to rescue the workers of iniquity. Change their hearts and cleanse as only the Blood of Jesus can. Let me cleanse my way as well. Amen

Proverbs 21:21-22

Next, I share today’s verses in Proverbs to turn you towards the blessings for those who wrestle not against flesh and blood, but contend in the Spiritual realms, with Holy Spirit weapons. Read the following from this Spiritual battle viewpoint. [forgive me for switching the verses around]

[22] A wise man scales the city of the mighty, and brings down the trusted stronghold.
[21] He who follows righteousness and mercy finds life, righteousness, and honor.

I bless you to experience all that is yours in Christ Jesus.  In this turbulent time, keep your heart in the firey love of God. Do not forget, in Christ we win, not the evil one!

I leave you with this firey glory in the sky!
