Battle Tactics From Nehemiah

What an excellent book to be reading at this time, the book of Nehemiah! Today, I am using the NIV, reading in chapter 4. Join me as I lead you through.

The Enemy Taunts

In Nehemiah 4:1-3, Sanballat and Tobiah the Ammonite, in the presence of the army of Samaria, were taunting the Jews… “Even a fox climbing up on it would break down their wall of stones!”

Is anyone taunting you? Despising you?

The godly pray

The Godly Pray

Nehemiah prays, “Hear us, our God, for we are despised. Turn their insults back on their own heads.” (4:4)

Note: Jesus tells us to do good to our enemies, bless and do not curse. These days, we hear testimony of how taunting captors surrender to Jesus through prayer and love.

Angry Plots

After Nehemiah prayed, the Israelites worked with all their hearts.  Sanballat, Tobias, the Arabs, the Ammonites, and the people of Ashdod heard the repairs continued. They became very angry, plotting together to fight and stir up trouble against Jerusalem.

Is anyone trying to stir up trouble, angry with you, or plotting against you?

Pray And Guard

Nehemiah tells us, “We prayed to our God and posted a guard day and night to meet this threat.”

Oh, that we may pray to God, our help and our salvation, and do our part to guard what belongs to us as His children.

Discouragement

Meanwhile, the people of Judah were discouraged.  “The strength of the laborers is giving out, and there is so much rubble that we can not rebuild the wall.”  On top of this, the Jews living near, ten times over, said, “Wherever you turn, they will attack us.” This hopelessness reminds me of Job’s wife telling him, “Curse God and die!”

What or who is causing you to despair?

Our children, our children’s children, their children’s children…

Remember God/Generations

Nehemiah posted families with weapons at the most exposed places. Then, after looking things over, he said,“Don’t be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.”

Currently, the Sprit is putting emphasis on the generations and our responsibility towards those coming after us. Discern your vulnerable places and don your Spiritual weapons. Let faith and love keep your fear away. As Pastor Josh Gmmiter said in his sermon October 18 & 19, we should fear the Lord God Almighty more than we fear anything else!

Be Aware & Prepare

Their enemies heard that they were aware of them and that God had frustrated their plot. The people returned to work, half of them building and half guarding. Those who were carrying materials worked with one hand and held a weapon with the other.

Identity In Christ

How do we go about our day? Do we realize the war that’s raging in the spiritual world as well as the natural? Daily putting on our godly armor will equip us for what’s ahead. Wisdom is discerning who we are in Christ and who He truly is to us – relationship!

Sound The Trumpet

Nehemiah kept the trumpeter at his side because “the work is extensive and spread out, and we are widely separated from each other along the wall. Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, join us there. Our God will fight for us!”

Our work is also extensive, and we are also widely separated. Let’s sound the unifying Trump of the Lord. Remember, our God still fights for us! We are to work faithfully to spread the glory, love, and salvation this world truly needs.

Here’s an interesting quote by D. L. Moody, that’s on my calendar: ‘”Every great movement of God can be traced to a kneeling figure.” Lord, thanks for Praying Hyde and Father Nash, two praying saints behind previous moves of God that come to mind.

Pastor Josh Gmmiter, October 18th & 19th,
ACF Church

Did you know?

Did you know… came to mind this morning.  Did you know that there’s a lot going on in the spiritual realm? Like a game of chess, the devil is on the move, but so is God!

Jesus conquered sin and death on the cross. Are you living in light of the power and authority He bought for you and for me?

The following Scripture passage occurs when the disciples return, jubilant with triumph, after being sent out with a small measure of the power and authority Jesus shared with them.

Luke 10:18 And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

They were amazed, but what did Jesus direct them to? Look at the next sentence Jesus spoke:

Luke10:20 Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”

Did you know that at this time we are living in, the veil between Earth and Heaven is quite thin?  That things can change quickly if we ask Jesus to bring Heaven down? Jesus said:

John 16:23 … Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. 24 Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

Make sure you stand in faith when you ask, rejoicing that God heard you and is answering that prayer. Even if it takes half a lifetime to come to pass, believe that it will be accomplished in His perfect timing. Let’s look into 1 John chapter 5.

1 John 5:4 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

1 John 5:3 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

Are you born anew through Jesus? He was born of God, and now we are also.

5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

If you believe He hears us, that you are born again, and that Jesus is the Son of God, you are made to overcome! Are you abounding in faith? Are you trusting Him? Are you triumphant over evil? Let’s look at the wisdom from Psalm 4. No matter what is going on around you, verses 4&5 are an appropriate reaction to anger:

Psalm 4:4 Be angry, and do not sin.
Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still. Selah. 5. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.

Do you have a gladness in your heart? If not, ask the Lord to put it there as He did for David.
7. You have put gladness in my heart,
More than in the season that their grain and wine increased.

Are you asking God some version of the next verse? Notice the entreaty on the back end of the verse. 6. There are many who say,
“Who will show us any good?”
Lord, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us.

In the midst of these times, do you lie down in peace and sleep? If not, trust the Lord:
8. I will both lie down in peace and sleep;
for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

Are you trusting God to act on our behalf?  Do not give up just before your prayers are answered, or your answer may never come. Never doubt our prayer- hearing, prayer-answering LORD!

I leave you with a link to Donna Rigney’s video I just watched. God’s word is true, and great things are ahead for us! Watch to the end if you want to soak up the Father’s glory she releases!

Note: Could we be in this mess because only 33% of professing Christians exercise their right to vote? I do not trust in man, so I’m not telling you who to vote for. I urge you to find out where the candidates stand on issues pertaining to life and sane living. Make sure you talk with the Lord [pray!] and then vote.

God, What Are You Doing???

I visited Smithville Baptist church the Sunday they hosted Jesus in the Passover. Laura Barron, from Jews For Jesus, presented excellent visuals as she explained what goes on in the Jewish household for Passover and how it relates to what we have in Jesus.

This connection with Laura connected me with Karol Joseph, who is working with Laura on sharing Yeshua with Haredi women. [Strict version of Judaism].

Well, Karol offered a study she wrote: Counting The Omer Journey. This is the 50-day time between Passover and Pentecost, following the Israelites’ journey from Egypt toward the Promised Land. I get each week’s study in my email and print it off.

Karol takes me into the story, encouraging me to identify with the Israelites and how it relates to my own life story.

Exodus 13:17 When Pharoah let the people go, God did not lead them [the Israelites]by way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near. For God said,”Lest the people change their minds when they see war and return to Egypt. “

Three weeks into the journey, God has told Moses to have the people double back to encamp near the Red Sea. God said He was going to bring glory, but no one knows how yet.

In Exodus 14, the people went out boldly, buoyed by the miracles God had done to release them.  Pharoah hardened his heart and gathered all his choicest military might to go and drag them back into slavery.

Exodus 149 The Egyptians pursued them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, his horsemen and his army, and overtook them camping by the sea beside Pi Hahiroth, before Baal Zephon.

When the Israelites see this great army, they turn on God and on Moses. Forgetting that God is stronger than the might of Pharaoh, they are sure they will die on the shore.

We all know the great miracle God did. I encourage you to read chapter 14 of Exodus to get into this miracle our Lord orchestrated to show His great glory.

What about us in this era? The enemy is rattling its sabers and the world seems to have gone crazy! Can we trust our monetary system? Our government? Our vote and advocacy make some difference,  but ultimately,  if God does not do a miracle, all is lost.

Will we be like our ancestors in the wilderness and despair? Will we look to the arm of flesh and worldly comfort? Will we choose to remember the  LORD and in Him our confidence place?

We see from their example that we can not lean on ‘Egypt’ and go back to the leeks, onions, and flesh pots. Manna, the food of angels in heaven, is a perfect food. It’s just not as appealing to the senses as what they had in Egypt.

The slave mentality had its advantages because they were used to being told what to do and being provided for. But, complaining and unbelief kept them in the wilderness.  How much have we been enslaved by our culture? Our schools, our media? Our outlook on life is a major thing. Our abundance and comfort lull us and can make us forget where these blessings come from.

This study I’m doing makes me wonder how God is going to save us by His mighty right arm this time. How much longer will the enemy rage? How much of it is our part? How much hangs  on our faith, our prayers, our actions to walk, in the light and love, of Christ?

Let us recount the great miracles we have read about. Also, ask the Holy Spirit to bring to mind the great things He’s done in your own life. It is our obligation to share our testimony and encourage others in faith.

Remember, mighty angels are waiting for us to tell them what to do! Use your power and authority in Jesus!

Blood moon, Elections, Full moon!

It is said that the sky is God’s billboard. Angels like to hide in cloud shapes and what did God say in Genesis? Let’s look.

Possible angel clouds?

Genesis 1:3 And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day.

14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. 16 God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. 17 God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, 18 to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness

So what might the Lord be saying with two significant types of moons at either end of this momentous election day? Well, I hope you voted. There were many emails, texts , Facebook posts, and messages, as well as phone calls flying around the past few weeks. Oh, I forgot the mailings we’ve received!

Some things to think about: I’m happy to exercise my right to vote, but I’m glad when campaign season ends. God wants us to work with him to decipher his signs in the firmament, but we’re not to delve into astrology or worship the heavenly lights. I’ve heard teachings that point to blood moons aligning with major happenings for Israel and the Jewish people. You can look up John Hagee’s ministry:www. jhm.org, he did a whole series on blood moons.

This morning’s blood moon taken by my husband

In other realms of thought, yesterday we had quite the bustling group at our church for our Operation Christmas Child packing party. Almost 240 boxes got done, and one dear saint did another 100 boxes at her home and brought them all to church to add to our tally.

My current second devotional book is using the book of John as well as some other scriptures to show how Jesus didn’t do the signs, wonders, and miracles on his own, they were accomplished through him because Father God was in him causing these to happen through him. This means we also have what Jesus did because we are the temple of God that He dwells in. So, if signs are not happening, it’s because we think it comes from our efforts rather than doing the things the Father is doing as Jesus did here on earth. It’s a partnership.

Well, you can see I found out how to use photos on the WordPress app. I will end this here. I plan to share another preview of my soon-to-be published book next week. Until then, I bless you with shalom from Father God and pray God’s will be done through these elections and all the COVID 19 and other illnesses attacking so many of us cease and desist soon. Amen.

My current reading list

Our Weapons are not Carnal!

I get daily emails from Destiny Image with encouraging excerpts from their author’s books, podcasts, and videos. Included are weekly deals for 99 cent kindle books or a discount on print books. This has added to my book collection on my shelf as well as my Kindle app, so I am reading several at a time. They all mesh with what the Spirit is teaching me.

  • The Prophetic Warrior Operating in your true prophetic authority by Emma Stark
  • The Way of Life Experiencing the culture of heaven on earth by Bill Johnson
  • A Life Ablaze Ten simple keys to living on fire for God by Rick Renner
  • Study Guide: The Notes of a Warrior The secrets of Spiritual warfare: Volume One by Dr. Kevin L. Zadai

Prophetic Warrior and Way of Life I purchased through Destiny Image discounts. https://love-to-read@norimediagroup.com A Life Ablaze was sent to me because I’m on the promotional team for Rick Renner’s new book Last Days Survival Guide, which is already so popular they ran out of advanced copies! I got Kevin Zadai’s Study Guide along with his 3 CD teaching set on his website https://kevinzadai.com/ I have the first CD set on ‘repeat’ in my car player.

So what am I learning? First, as a child of God through Christ, I have authority as well as power given to me by Jesus. With these, I am to walk as a manifest child of God, bringing Heaven culture here on earth. It would not save me to not hear God; you accept Jesus when you hear Him calling.

On page 41 of Rick’s book he quotes R. A. Torrey, “Ninety-nine Christians in every hundred are merely playing at Bible study; and therefore ninety-nine Christians in every hundred are mere weaklings when they could be giants.” Rick adds: “When Christians could be spiritual giants, they are often weaklings because they have ignored the source of fuel that could empower them to be mighty!

What fuel can build up your holy faith? Paul admonished Timothy in 2 Timothy 1:6 “Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. The following things keep us spiritually ablaze.

Rick Renner’s 10 keys to being Ablaze

  1. God’s Word
  2. Prayer
  3. Holy Spirit
  4. Worship
  5. for Souls
  6. Generosity
  7. Holiness
  8. Humility
  9. Authority
  10. Fear of the LORD

Often we give up the authority God gives us without realizing it. Man’s authority was first given to satan when Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the garden. The devil has power, but no authority to use it without stealing from us. We still fall for his lies when we have power AND authority to put him in his place. We are amid an onslaught from the enemy of our souls. Let us learn to stand in the power and authority Jesus died and arose to give us and beat back the evil poised to take us out.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Ephesians 6:12

Take your authority and bind those things not in heaven and loose those things which are. Earth is the first heaven where we have dominion [see Adam’s charge in Genisis], above that is the second heaven where satan rules. Next is the third heaven where we sit with Christ beside Father God, high above all principalities and powers, rulers, and hosts of wickedness. Let us learn to rule and reign as Christ equips us to do. We find the whole armor of God listed in Ephesians 6 outlined and explained in A Life Ablaze.

Jesus said, “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

Matthew 18:18

Let us stand on sure footing, connecting with the Spirit within which is heaven amid our very being. Let it out in your sphere of influence and see what happens when you put wickedness in its place under your feet. Keep reminding the devil of his destiny in the lake of fire and rejoice, as Jesus told us to do.

17 Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” 18 And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”

Luke 10:17-20

Shalom my dear readers!
